- First and most important, ENJOY IT, being negative only brings yourself and other people down
- Remember you are part of a team, be tolerant and respectful to your team mates, coach, manager etc, you need them!!
- Don't be afraid to try things out, don't get stuck doing the same things all the time, at some point the opposition will work out how to play against you and you'll need to vary your play so you can stay ahead.
- Look after yourself, physically and mentally. The importance of
nutirtion, hydration and fitness can never be under-estimated
- Learn from others, watch your peers, see what they do and try to replicate it
- Aim high, there is nothing you can't achieve if you really set your
mind to it
- Get involved with coaching and umpiring, it'll improve
your understanding of the game and ultimately you'll be a better player for it
- You may have had a game where you felt that you were being continually penalized in the G.C for obstruction. Ask for an umpire to attend a training session and work through it.
- The captain may approach the umpire at a stoppage but the QUESTION MUST BE RULE SPECIFIC ie: my gk is being continually penalized for contact please explain contact to me…
- If you want to improve your game you need to train outside your team training.
