Baywide Open
This event is for club teams from the 7 Netball Centres. Secondary School Teams can also enter and Netball Bay of Plenty has always had it as an option to help prepare the top Under 17 and Under 19 Teams for their National events. The event is played from the last week in May to mid July on a Tuesday night in Whakatane, Rotorua and Tauranga so that teams are able to play on a home and away basis. The Finals Day (Saturday in mid July) sees both the semis and the finals played for the specially designed gold, silver and bronze Netball Bay of Plenty Medals in Championship, Plate and Bowl (if there are sufficient teams)Divisions. An MVP is chosen for each division. Umpires who umpire Finals are awarded medals also.
Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Baywide Secondary Schools
Played over two Sundays in August prior to the UNISS Tournament the event determines the best Secondary School in the Bay of Plenty. Bay of Plenty Polytechnic sponsor the event and present the specially designed gold, silver and bronze Netball Bay of Plenty Medals. The event is always very competitive and sees different champions emerge.
Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Baywide Under 15
Played over two Sundays in May the event is to give the Junior Secondary school sides from around the bay of Plenty the chance to play each other. Bay of Plenty Polytechnic sponsor the event and present the specially designed gold, silver and bronze Netball Bay of Plenty Medals. The event gives schools the chance to settle on final line ups for the season and has always provided a great deal of excitement for the young players.
Baywide Year 7
The event was played alongside the Under Event for the first time in 2010 to create a similar season starter event. It is hope that this approach will continue and draw more teams in from around the Bay of Plenty. It is the only Bay of Plenty event that sees teams from the Te Kaha area come to play.
Baywide Year 8
Played over two Sundays in August prior to the NZ AIMS Tournament the event determines the best Year 8 Team in the Bay of Plenty. It was put in place to support teams in the Region with their preparation. The winners receive specially designed gold, silver and bronze Netball Bay of Plenty Medals. In 2010 the first Sunday will be played alongside the BOP Polytechnic Baywide Secondary Schools event.
