Q1. Iam from the Solomon Islands and I played mens mixs netball with a club in Melbourne,Victoria state.Could I come and join your club?
A. You would be able to if you lived in New Zealand or you can keep in touch with netball through our website.

Q2. What is holding?
A. Holding is the word used to explain what players need to do to prepare a space for the ball to go to for them to catch it. That means that the player stands upright and does not move until they move to the space that the ball is being passed to ie they move when the ball is on the way/or they move to the ball. In the holding action you are keeping the defender away from the space that you want to catch the ball in.

Q3. why does an netball hoop have a net?
A. This is based on the history of the game when a basket was used as part of the goal hence the game originally being called basketball. This peach basket has since been modernised with a hole being cut in the bottom so that the ball could pass through. We suggest that you visit any website about the history of the game.

Q4. How many netball’s should I take to practice?
A. It is ideal to have one ball per player so that they can each do the individual drills you might want them to do like through against the wall. Ask players to bring their own. For a team of ten 3 to 4 is helpful.

Q5. My daughter is playing netball for the first time at 11 and while I played it was a while ago. What courses am I best to do?
A. Find out what is on offer from the website and then call NBOP to discuss what might best meet your needs. Bring along others who you might know to enjoy the learning so that you can support each other.
